Using makeup removers? This is what can happen to you!

Whether it’s the skilled application of foundation, highlighter, cheek and lip tint, and concealer, or simply applying mascara and lip gloss, most women apply makeup nearly every day. Which means that each evening during their nighttime routine, women remove their makeup—typically using a chemical makeup remover.

Many dermatologists, however, have recently cautioned against the harm of makeup removers, particularly makeup wipes. Not only do these products frequently fail to remove the makeup, but their chemicals can irritate the skin and cause lasting damage.

Enter the MakeUp Eraser. This revolutionary new product completely removes makeup using nothing but warm water, making it far kinder to your skin than the chemical-filled products most women use today. But in order to understand why this new product needs to be a staple in every woman’s medicine cabinet, it’s important to understand the process and products most women are using now—and why it’s not working.

Time to remove makeup remover from your routine

Anyone who’s used makeup wipes is surely familiar with the disappointment of washing their face then looking up at the mirror to see raccoon eyes staring back at them. Oftentimes, makeup wipes fail to fully remove makeup, especially when it comes to waterproof mascara. Wipes smear and smudge makeup, grime and dead skin cells around your face without actually removing much of it. Because much of the makeup is still on your face when you hit the hay, your pores remain clogged, which causes breakouts, discoloration and, in the worst cases, infection.

Even worse, the chemicals found in many makeup removers aren’t intended to be left on a person’s skin. When women don’t wash their face properly after using these cleansers, their face can become extremely dry and irritated. Some products even contain preservatives like formaldehyde, which is allergenic and harmful to the skin.

Not only do the chemicals harm your skin but rubbing the sensitive skin on your face and around your eyes each night causes low-grade inflammation, which can cause changes in pigmentation and premature wrinkles. Harsh rubbing can also pull out eyelashes, leaving your lashes looking less lush.

Of course, forgoing the makeup removal process altogether and going to sleep wearing makeup is equally as harmful. Leaving makeup on overnight can lead to acne breakouts, accelerate the aging process and make skin look dull.

The Magic of the MakeUp Eraser

Lucky for the makeup-wearing women of the world, a new product has been developed that eliminates the harm of makeup remover altogether. The MakeUp Eraser, a soft cloth made from a unique patent-pending fabric blend, completely removes stage, HD, smear proof and waterproof makeup and mascara with nothing but warm water. Invented in the U.S., these reusable towels are hand sewn and machine washable, making them very low maintenance.

Made of a polyester-silk blend, the cloth fibers are finer than human hair and stand straight up, rather than looping around, which is softer on your skin. Once wet, the eraser creates a hydro-mechanical process that breaks the surface tension of the oils that bond makeup to the skin, essentially pulling the makeup and dirt from your pores. The result: 100% removal of all makeup.

The best news, The MakeUp Eraser has been dermatologist-approved, including for sensitive skin.

To use the MakeUp Eraser, soak the fabric with warm water and, using the side with shorter fibers, gently wipe off makeup in a circular motion. Once the makeup is removed, flip over the MakeUp Eraser and use the side with longer fibers to clean your skin and exfoliate.

Brightening skin—and the world

Not only is the MakeUp Eraser better for your skin, but it’s better for your wallet and the environment. One MakeUp Eraser towel lasts for 1,000 washes or roughly three to five years. That’s one $20 purchase over the course of five years rather than dozens of purchases of expensive makeup remover and cotton pads or tissues—a pretty huge savings!

The MakeUp Eraser also keeps women from adding daily wipes, cotton pads and tissues to landfills, making the MakeUp Eraser a green choice.
